Where to Stay?​​​

Aveiro is easy to get around, so you’ll have no trouble reaching the University of Aveiro or exploring the city, no matter where you stay.

You can find good accommodation options on platforms like Airbnb and Booking.com

However, to make your planning easier, we highlight a few recommended places to stay.

University Area (Close to the Campus)

📍 Best for proximity: Staying near the University will make it very easy for you to get to the Summer School, especially if it’s held on campus

Distance: you’ll be within walking distance of the university and nearby parks. You can enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere while still being connected to the central area

Near Aveiro Train Station

📍Convenient for travel: if you’re planning to travel to other cities in Portugal, staying near the train station is convenient

Distance: around 25 minutes walk to the University (or a short bike ride)

Beira-Mar District (Canals & Riverside)

📍 Scenic and relaxing: This area is ideal if you enjoy being close to picturesque canals and traditional Portuguese architecture

Distance: around 20 minutes walk to the University (or a short bike ride)

City Center

📍 Vibrant and convenient: Staying in the city center places you near cafes, shops, and restaurants, and it's easy to reach the university on foot or public transport

Distance: around 15 minutes walk to the University

Support from the Event Organizers

Participants are responsible for finding and booking their accommodation

The event organizers are arranging budget-friendly hotel and hostel options to recommend to participants

There will also be an option to connect with other participants interested in sharing accommodation (WhatsApp group), which can help reduce costs even further
