Ecosystem service analyzes help to identify and understand the relationship and interaction between society and nature. In doing so, they can provide different information for environmentally friendly policymaking. For this, the often purely scientific analyzes should be adapted to the needs of different actors involved in the political process. This will enhance the integration of ecosystem services into public policies and increase their potential for impact. The “ISE” approach (Integrating Ecosystem Services into Development Planning) aims to assist policy makers in recognizing the links between nature and development, considering the environmental and economic trade-offs associated with development measures and, by doing so, helps to systematically incorporate ecosystem service-related opportunities and risks into the planning and development of strategies. Participants in this training course learn the basic of ecosystem service analyzes and how these can be incorporated into policy-making.
The cost per training per person is $30 (€26) including the training, materials, and coffee break, excluding lunch. Registration is possible through the registration form.
All trainings will be given in both English and Portuguese, Spanish translation can be provided on the spot, if needed.
